Latest Updates from Our Project:

All current designs are funded, more stretch goals, and questions for you!
over 3 years ago – Wed, Jan 13, 2021 at 05:52:05 PM

Hello everyone! I have a long update ahead but I promise it's worth the read, please be sure to note there is another survey at the end and I appreciate you taking the first one!  Here are the new designs that are options in the new survey, in order by their levels of refinement:

Beryl

The beryl design would either have glitter or pearl mixed in the grey sections to mimic the texture and sparkle that portion of a specimen would have.

Pallasite Meteorite Slice

The pallasite meteor design could have translucent fill.

Rhodochrosite

Like Beryl, this design would have pearl or glitter in the grey areas.

Benitoite

This design would also have glitter or pearl in the grey areas.

Amethyst

The amethyst design would be reworked a bit to have a rounder bottom edge as amethyst geodes are typically round.

Amber

Sketch of the amber, and two versions in 3D. The bug would have more detail like it does in the sketch than it does in the 3D versions.

Here is a conceptual render of how the amber design would work. I might add more details to the screen printed bug layer to add to the inclusions that amber usually has. This design is very complex, having moving parts and "stained glass" style enamel fill. The original plan for amber was to do recessed and mid raised metal with translucent amber colored enamel and a raised bug in the metal underneath. That idea is still an option as well!

Amber v2

Here's a quick render of it.

Now, for the aforementioned new survey, I am asking about the edition number of the Make 100 pin. The campaign has nearly reached 100 backers for that design and I am so excited to make them for you! Your support makes this pin possible and I can't thank you enough. As this is a "Make 100" campaign, of course the idea is to make 100 of something, of course. However, pins are handmade and as such are prone to flaws. I like to order extra of my designs to ensure top quality products to Kickstarter backers first and foremost. In this particular situation I would order 25% in addition to the base order, thus changing this design to a Limited Edition run of 125 instead of 100. If you are more concerned with the edition number instead of the flaws you may vote to keep the LE locked at 100, if you would prefer the quality over the LE number you may vote to increase the edition to 125, ensuring all backers get A Grade pins. I will leave this to a popular vote from backers since they're your pins, it's your choice! Survey is below:

Another Stretch Goal Appears! + LE update
over 3 years ago – Wed, Jan 13, 2021 at 05:50:38 PM

Hello everyone! Thank you for all of your support so far! This campaign is exceeding all of my expectations and I am so grateful for that! It looks like we are extending the LE to 125 of the initial Bismuth pin design to make sure that all backers receive an A grade pin.  The numbering will reflect that change. The overwhelming majority that took the survey supported this decision.  There will still only be 100 available to back for during the campaign and those slots are almost gone!

If you have checked the campaign page, you might have noticed the Spinning Amber pin was added. Here is the formal announcement for it!

I made some minor changes to the design to give it a more refined look. There will be a pin post on each side to keep it stable and upright! The post holding the two pieces together will also be flat and not raised as it is in this mockup.

The campaign has reached $2,100 so this pin is now available to add to your pledge or to pledge for separately.

Early birds add $12 to your pledge for this design and regular backers please add $14 if you would like to add this pin to your pledge. If you only would like this pin, please select the "Spinning Amber Pin" reward tier.

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to message me and I will do my best to help!

I have looked into all of the suggestions you have left me and I have learned about some really interesting and new rocks! I am working on and refining more designs!

Thank you again for your support so far!
